10. Mulawarman Museum (1971)
Located at Tenggarong, about 45 Km from Samarinda and about 110 Km from Balikpapan. This Museum was officially declared on November 25, 1971 by Governor of East Kalimantan (Bapak H.A. Wahab Syahranie), handed over the department of Education and Culture on February 18, 1976.Collection: Jewelry of Kutai Kingdom, ceramic from Hindu and Islam period old spears, gamelan, throne, world sweep cannon, and collection of Sultan Bulungan, Sultan Pasir, Sultan Sambaliung, and Sultan Gunung Tabur.
9. Radya Pustaka Museum (1890)
Museum Radya Pustaka, Solo is the oldest museum of the city. The actual name of the museum is Paheman Radya Pustaka and it was established on the 28th October 1890.
The museum has been educating and informing its visitors for more than hundred years and still continues to be one of the most visited museums of the country. Museum Radya Pustaka is situated at JL. Slamet Riyadi and all the visitors of the museum are welcomed by the statue of Ronggowarsito, a celebrated Karaton poet of the past. The museum features a wide range of exhibits all of which will give you a fair understanding of the tradition and custom of Solo as well as Indonesia. Radya Pustaka Museum was built with the purpose of saving books and works of the poets, writers and intellectuals from the past. In fact the museum is renowned in the whole city for featuring an extensive collection of antiquities, gamelan, keris, puppets, scroll of wayang beber, some Javanese and Dutch books.
8. Museum Seni Rupa dan Keramik (1870)
Museum of Fine Arts and Ceramics, was once the Raad van Justitie or Gods Dutch Justice. This building was founded in 1866 to 1870. Greek Classical style buildings and the only classical Greek building in the areas of Jakarta City. This building became the Museum was inaugurated by President Soeharto in August 1976.
7. Museum Bank Indonesia (1828)
Museum Bank Indonesia is a museum in Jakarta, Indonesia which is located on Jl. Pintu Besar Utara No. 3, Jakarta Barat (City Beos front of the station), the building occupies the former Bank of Indonesia which is a sanctuary city cultural relic De Javasche Bank neo-classical wing, combined with local influence, and was first built in 1828 .
6. Museum Taman Prasasti (1795)
Directly adjacent to Taman Prasasti (Park of Memorial Stones) , this small and unusual museum was developed to highlight the various methods of traditional burial in Indonesia. Photographs and objects on display relate to burials in the open air (performed in Trunyan, Bali), in a boat (commonly practiced in Irian Jaya) and in a jar (as done in Anyer, Melolo and Tomok, Bali). This is a unique and fascinating examination of the sepulchral culture of Indonesian minorities, such as the aborigines.
5. Museum Nasional Republik Indonesia (1778)
On April 24, 1778, a group of Dutch intellectuals established a scientific institution under the name Bataviaasch Genotschap van Kunsten en Wetenschappen, (Batavia Society for Arts and Science). This private body had the aim of promoting research in the field of arts and sciences, especially in history, archaeology, ethnography and physics, and publish the various findings.
One of the founders - JCM Radermacher - donated a building and a collection of cultural objects and books, which were of great value to start off a museum and library for the society. Due to the growing collections, General Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles built a new premises on Jalan Majapahit No. 3 at the beginning of the 19th century and named it the Literary Society. In the 1862 the Dutch East Indian government decided to build a new museum that would not only serve as an office but also could be used to house, preserve and display the collections.
